how do you link librairies

Postby threegremlins on Fri Jul 04, 2008 8:22 am

I've downloaded a deb program and installed the package. When I try to launch it in a terminal it says it can't because it can't find lib3ds-1, but Synaptic says it has lib3ds-1.3 installed. How do I link the latter so the program will use it instead?

This is not quite simple and thus I moved the topic
I don't know any general solutions, but you'd have to edit the file(s) in the program pointing to version 1.3
Another solution would be to find and install that version - it should not cause conflicts

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
