New to Linux, and recently downloaded Mint 15.
To use Ableton, I also downloaded PLayonlinux v 4.2.1 and followed instructions from that site to install.
Discovered that mint is downgrading this back to 4.1.1 , which will not work for running ableton.
I have found that this may have something to do with the package manager, and have been trying to figure out Synaptic, but the thing I think I need to do (mark for upgrade, oading somer force version) are not accessible (I can see them but can not click on them in GUI).
Anyone have suggestions or reccomendations? I am reading some books, searching the web and experimenting with the programs, but not able to figure this out...
Thanks in adance...

Re: updating playonlinux
No one knows about this or how to tell package manager to allow newer versions?
Re: updating playonlinux
I always install playonlinux with the .deb on their site.

Go to ubuntu link and you will see it.
