Windows Media Player on Linux?

Postby HermanDegenhart on Tue Jul 08, 2008 10:41 pm

When I go to http://www.bloomberg.com/ to click a video, a window pops up inciting me to get Windows Media Player. When I click on the window, I am being led to the Microsoft Download Center where I am expected to download a Windows Media Player. No joke. How to play these video's in a proper Linux Player like for example VLC or Kaffeine which, I am told, must be possible?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Try installing the mplayer plugin in synaptic.

Thanks everyone. I have solved the problem by following the directions on this page: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=766683 . It worked.
