(Solved) Picasa won't see my external hard drive (pic)

Postby morty007 on Sun Jul 27, 2008 8:01 pm

As you can see from the SS I went into folder manager and it isn't there. My harddrive was plugged in and running when I first started Picasa. Is this a linux only issue?? The google group picasa for linux doesn't have the answer and it's very low activity over there unfortunately.

That bottom icon with the red X and labeled with '/' is where you need to go to find your external USB hard drive. You should find your USB hard drive in the 'media' folder.

Thank you Bob! One last question. Why are there 3 Sea_disks listed in there? The last one is the "real one" but the other two just confused me at first.

Wow Morty, you got me on that one. :?

I stole my wife's Seagrate FreeAgent external USB drive to see about answering your question. It shows up for me in Elyssa as just a single entry labeled 'FreeAgent Drive'.

I would look at the drives folder arrangement in Nautilus. It looks to me that you have multiple folders, one with no following underscore, one with a sigle following undrescore, and the last one with 2 following underscores. Be interesting to see if the folder structure is the same in Nautilus. My guess is it is.
