[Solved] Steam won't fully load

I installed steam from the linux mint software manager. Specifically I installed the steam-launcher package. This did its thing and installed some dependencies. Once that was done steam updated its self and then asked me for the login information. I enter the login information, and the window just goes away. Nothing seems to happen after that. I have tried restarting steam numerous times and everytime it does the same thing. Any help?
