[SOLVED] Meshlab 1.3.2 install help

Postby n1k0l4 on Sun Jan 05, 2014 9:01 am

Hi all, I'm new in the linux world.

Someone can help me to install the last version of Meshlab, the 1.3.2 downloaded from their home page?

It's a .tgz extension, but I can't understand all the passages in the install txt.

Open Menu
Left column Favorites 2nd down is Software Manager
search for mesh
double click
install
new program should be listed in menu
you can rt chick and add icon to desktop

I would always only install from the trusted Mint repository.

computerbob thanks for reply, but I've just installed the version 1.3.0 found in the software manager and it has some problem that cause a crash of the program.

For this reason I need to try the last version.

I just installed 1.3.0
Looks like a graphics intensive program.
It did not crash for me, but I'm using a video card with 1GB DDR3 ram.
I see that they have a stable update 1.3.2
Make sure you have enough ram and video ram to meet minimum hardware requirements.
You're going to have to study their install procedure with that .tgz unless someone else
in here can help you.

my mistake.

working on the Nvidia card Meshlab doesn't crash! :)

thank you so much!

I didn't know laptops had the capability of switching video cards (controllers). I'm so glad I joined this forum.
BTW, in linux, when you get a system update, all your installed programs are scanned and you get the latest versions.
They will eventually have the 1.3.2 in the repository.
