I'm running Mint 5 and lately I've noticed that some sites will be without images that were there the day before. Sometimes they come back by hitting refresh, other times not. This morning all of NY Times had white boxes where the images and videos would be.

How do I correct this problem?

Must be something in Firefox
Check that you have enabled images - somewhere in preferences (under the Edit menu)
Empty the cache, it's very often some sh-t in there that behaves badly - does not at all have to be malware - something got corrupted...

I cleared the cache... it's working now.
Sometimes just closing and opening Firefox brings the images back.

In this respect (not images, but strange behavior) FF is sometimes as bad as IE.... but only sometimes....
