clipboard clears after exting Libreoffice Calc

Hi,

Using Mint 17 Mate 64-bit. This is a wacky one I've been encountering frequently, lately. When I copy something from a Libreoffice Calc spreadsheet I can paste it into another application all I want until I close Calc, at which point the clipboard clears. It will not clear the clipboard if I had copied data from elsewhere.

What is going on here ??

It doesn't want me to retain the clipboard contents after exiting? Why would I want it to clear my clipboard?
It knows whether or not the clipboard originated from itself? Strange.
Why should clipboard contents copied from Calc be treated differently than other applications? Unable to reproduce the problem in Writer, or any other application.

There are no clipboard settings anywhere that I can tell.

Thanks!

Hello, Linx255.

It is normal behaviour that the clipboard content will be discarded once an application terminates. This applies to LO Calc as well as LO Writer and any other Linux application.
Application A puts something into the clipboard. Application A terminates. Whatever application A put into the clipboard will be discarded.
Unable to reproduce the problem in Writer, or any other application.
This is weird, because I can reproduce the behaviour with any random application on any random recent Linux Mint edition (and on Ubuntu as well).

Kind regards,
Karl

check out Clipit.

It easily copies and keeps LO Calc cell(s) data for me after closing LO Calc.

It is normal behaviour...
That's weird because I don't ever recall this behavior with any application or distro prior to Mint 16 or 17.
What's even weirder is that today LO Writer now clears the clipboard on exit as well. It did not do this yesterday. go figure. However, LO is still the only application that does this.

Re: clipit: I don't want my clipboard contents cleared to begin with and don't need a clipboard manager yet, though I'll keep that in mind next time I do an insane amount of copy-pasting.
A simple checkbox option in LO to enable or disable clearing clipboard would be nice.

All the best :)
