opera mystery

Postby daka on Thu Oct 02, 2008 2:50 pm

I am trying opera because Firefox is unstable but I get the following message:

Any visible images have invalid or missing ALT attributes.

Any suggestions how to resolve this?

This is a bad browser day!!. I tried to use Konquerer but it's not installed ... Synaptic can't find it and apt-get in terminal doesn't work???!!!

Not sure because Firefox is really nice and stable on my system, but Konqueror is installed automatically as part of the base KDE package. How is Firefox unstable? Did you uninstall / re-install it?

Thanks for replying

Yes I reinstalled Firefox three times.... no luck.... no controls... no going back pages... no bookmarks... won't show bookmarks that I have had for ages and won't re-import them. I am in the process of downloading kubuntu-desktop so will have Konqueror soon. Firtefox has been great for me for years... I think I have heard rumors that it has recently become unstable.

Well my recommendation would would be to scrap Kubuntu and download Mint 5 KDE CE version. You'll have a new (and likely working Firefox), as well as Konqueror standard. Mint KDE is much better out of the box than Kubuntu in my opinion... It's all I use.

thanks Ronnoc

I will follow that recommendation. I live on a mountain and pay per gigabyte so it will have to wait until I get to town to a friend's place.
