Three Anamolies

Postby alligoodw on Sat Oct 11, 2008 9:08 pm

I'm using Linux Mint 5, dual booted with Windows Vista. There are three things that challenges me.

1. Screensaver WILL NOT work if I use Compiz.
2. If I right-click on an image and select 'save as desktop wallpaper', the appropriate window opens up but doesn't work.
3. I only have one desktop workspace - or whatever you call them. I've tried a couple of things I've read but to no avail. Where is the switch that turns this item on? Are there certain conditions, or certain programs which must be running in order for more than one workspace to function properly?

Any input would be appreciated.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Hi. For #3, I believe that you have to add to the panel the applet Desktop Preview and Pager. Then you can choose to have up to 20 virtual desktops. Some Distros have this applet installed by default, but Mint does not.

I don't use Compiz, and have not tries the save image to desktop, so don't know about those issues.
