Mouse pointer dissapears while browser loads page

Hi, I recently updated my Mint using MintUpdate, and i just noticed now that when I surf, and a page is loading, the mouse pointer disappears, and and sporadically reappears until the page has completely finished loading. I thought it was just Firefox, so i tried on Opera also. It still happened. Then i thought it might be because I've been playing around with the Compiz plugins, so I turned off Compiz. It still happens. Any idea how I could fix this? If there is any information on specs that you need that I can provide?

I have the same issue, but it happens when i close the lid on my laptop.
Laptop is a IBM ThinkPad T43
Running LinuxMint 9 Isadora
Kernel Linux 2.6.32-21-generic

I have set the setting so the screen goes blank on closing the lid. ( default is to hibernate)
When I open the lid I should see the mouse but I can't see pointer (it is there but invisible, I can move it and click on icons, but just can't see the pointer itself)

For mint 8 this did not happen. I recently upgraded to Mint 9.

I think this may be an Ubuntu bug.
