Qalculate! Issues?

Postby Yuki_Nagato on Wed Oct 15, 2008 11:36 am

See the screenshot for the explanation.

When trying to take the derivative of "y = x ^ (sin(x))" It spits out almost the right answer. It would be right except for that part circled in blue.

Am I doing something wrong, or is Qalculate at fault. I installed from the repositories.

GNU plot also cannot graph anything higher than a second order equation correctly.

This is way above my math... (and I've studied math at the university :))
Take a look at the Qalculate! home page - not all that informative but...
http://qalculate.sourceforge.net/
And in general when you get wrong results of this type you have to consider if the parenthesis are in the right places - that's my math input....

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
