Questions about applications and software

When trying to take the derivative of "y = x ^ (sin(x))" It spits out almost the right answer. It would be right except for that part circled in blue.
Am I doing something wrong, or is Qalculate at fault. I installed from the repositories.
GNU plot also cannot graph anything higher than a second order equation correctly.

This is way above my math... (and I've studied math at the university
Take a look at the Qalculate! home page - not all that informative but...http://qalculate.sourceforge.net/
And in general when you get wrong results of this type you have to consider if the parenthesis are in the right places - that's my math input....
