Is Evolution part of mint cinnamon?

Post by richac »

I just got an update for Evolution-data-server and a bunch of libs for it.

Is this part of mint cinnamon?I If not i'm wondering how it got on my pc. I don't seem to have the evolution mail client installed....is it part of something else on a default Linux 17 Cinnamon install?

Thanks for the help.

Rich.

Hi Richac,

We can check why a package is installed by using the cli command aptitude.

Code: Select all

sudo aptitude why evolution-data-server
Which says
i gnome-panel Recommends evolution-data-server
And digging further...

Code: Select all

sudo aptitude why gnome-panel
says
i cinnamon Depends gnome-panel | tint2
So evidently, it is a dependency for Cinnamon. :)

Cheers!

Ditto that. I was wondering the same thing.
