Getting Fixed Fonts In gnome-terminal

Postby jayemdaet on Sun Oct 26, 2008 4:31 pm

Hi all,

I want to be able to use MiscFixed font in gnome-terminal and I am running into a brick wall of sorts. I find that there is talk of doing this in an Ubuntu wiki by using the following command:

Code: Select all
sudo dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig-config

and not changing the values until I get to the screen referring to enabling bitmap fonts and turn it on. I have done this and the wiki said I should just be able to go into gnome-terminal and see a whole list of new fonts available. This is not the case. MiscFixed is not available. I tried a reboot and the same. Any other suggestions? Is there something more that needs to be done?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Found the fix at the end of: http://fixunix.com/ubuntu/248182-cant-i ... fonts.html

You have to do both of these actions:

Code: Select all
sudo dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig-config
sudo dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig

Once done, and you close and reopen gnome-terminal, the Fixed fonts appear.

Hope this helps!
