3g Modem

Hi folks.

This question is about, how i get my USB drived wireless modem to work on Linux Elyssa.
This question would most likely cut be answered by danes, i guess.
If someone know. I would be so happy.=)

More facts please - and is it a wifi as stated in the message body or a 3g as stated in the subject line

Oh well, i think i got a solution. I will just look at it.

But yes, it is a 3g Modem. It connects to the internet via a sim-card inside the USB Drive. I think its similare to a phone actually.

Depending on it's model, you should upgrade your Network Manager to it's latest version (released in Ubuntu 8.10 i think) as it was just added with 3G modem support. Worked for me and was actually really easy. For guidance please google their corresponding forum topic where they go in detail with supported models and upgrading instructions.

Hi,
I might know the solution to your problem, but I need some details to make sure:

1. Do you have any other way to connect to the Net? (on the same computer, of course)
2. Can you post here the output that you get by entering the command (plug the USB modem in first):
