Wine Doors

Postby IceCrystal on Sun Nov 02, 2008 2:07 pm

Have just heard about a software called Wine Doors, and i looked for it in Synaptic and installed it.
But does anyone know what Wine Doors is? What does it do?
I have Wine installed and i run Guild Wars through it with no problems, isnt it enough with just Wine?

And all the software included in Wine Dorrs i saw, like Photoshop/Dreamweaver/World of Warcraft/Half Life 2 ect ect isnt that software that goes under licence
that you must pay for to use? Or are they in it just to show that they run under Wine Doors?
Just became curious why they are with in Wine Doors.

wine is the base application.

wine-doors is a utility which uses wine (there are others as well like cedega & crossover which are commercial apps).

The list you see in wine-doors are the apps you can install from wine-doors GUI. you need to have a licenced program to install them. when click on them to install, it will ask you for the .exe / CD-ROM as pplicable. (And the list doesnot mean that they are already installed!)
Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it -Husse
