How to set options for individual screen savers?

Postby Skankin' Rat Fink on Fri Nov 14, 2008 3:01 pm

Hello everyone ... I'm running Linux Mint with the GNOME desktop. How do you set the options for an individual screen saver?

I've found the man files for the screen savers and how to configure them from the command line, but this takes effect only on that one run. It doesn't use those settings when the screen savers turn themselves on.

Also, I seem to remember having a preferences option for individual screensavers when I was trying out a distribution of Linux that had the Fluxbox desktop.

Thanks.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

I don't think this is possible in Gnome - now
Older versions had individual screen saver settings if I'm not mistaken

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it

Well, I suppose that answers it ...

But since the configuration options for the screensavers do exist ... (and I may be getting in way over my head here)

How difficult would it be to add this kind of functionality using the source code? I imagine it may be easier for a seasoned Unix-environment developer than it would be for me. I've been using Linux for a few months now and I have limited programming practice.
