I like Beryl and the way it looks and spices up the desktop. However, I really like the way that Metisse handles the windows and virtual desktops. Has anyone successfully compiled and is using Metisse on Mint? I would love to use Metisse, but I don't want to use Mandriva.
I think Metisse will likely work it's way into Ubuntu either through MOTUs or Debian and then I think it'll be available here. Regarding Metisse, is it really that much nicer than Beryl? Beryl is pretty darn sweet.
i tried mandriva for this, other than the fact that all rpm distros seem to be as slow as hell, it seems metisse is much faster on old hardware than compiz/beryl, i even got it to run on a PC without a 3D graphics card.
