problem with *.rm videos

Hi guys,

up to a week ago I used to play *.rm videos with TOTEM, but now if I open them with that program I can hear the audio only.
So I need to use RealPlayer.
Probably something occurred during a software installation/removal but I can't remember what I've done in Those days...

How can I restore the Totem full functionality?

Try to reinstall through Synaptics. Maybe you should try to remove completely first and then install.
In my system I have
libtotem-plparser1
Totem
Totem-xine
This sould give you a fresh totem, but you loose all
custom settings you may have done.

Good to know that Totem can be uninstalled on Bianca. I once tried to uninstall it on Unbuntu Edgy and it balked, saying that it provided dependencies for Firefox. When I went to uninstall Firefox it effectively told me to take a hike.

Big mistake for Edgy, as I then reformatted the partition and installed some other Linux distro.

ok, problem solved installing totem-xine instead of totem-gstreamer.
I havn't done it before because the gstreamer was marked with the ubuntu-logo, so I thought it was the better but...I was wrong
