Long update in menu

Postby longlivethebestos on Sun Nov 30, 2008 3:11 pm

One thing I noticed in Linux Mint compared to any other OS that I've used is the time it takes for the menu to update and realize that I've installed. Once I had to wait 5mins to use a program from the menu. So I just want to alert the developers of this, that programs are not instantly available and are sometimes not placed in the right place - What I mean is I installed Microsoft office 2007 and it put word, excel, PowerPoint in the administration category and not in the ''wine'' category.

Thanks for your time,
Hope this *Bug* gets fixed

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

This is something in the gray area between bugs and "bad behavior" It takes a while because of python, we intend to rewrite it in C+ and it should be faster. Five minutes is too long though
Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
