VI and VIM issue

Postby Guest on Tue Dec 02, 2008 6:06 pm

I am having and issue not sure how to fix it.. On my system i do not have vi itself installed i have vim though... I created an alias in my .bashrc_vanilla file for vi to open vim.. but when i use vi the keyboard mapping is wrong but if i use vim to open a file it works fine. Anyone know how to fix that.

I'm new to Mint but have you tried editing the /etc/bash.bashrc file? I'm not sure why it wouldn't be picking up a local .bashrc, though I haven't heard of .bashrc_vanilla. :?:
