Nemo- Places: How to eliminate duplicate partition displays

Post by Resistor »

How to eliminate duplicate partition displays in Places, on the left side?

The offending partitions are Root, Data & OS_2.

File Manager Nemo shows 2 instances of /dev/sda partitions.
The partitions in the Upper half will not mount and an error message is displayed.

Code: Select all

Unable to mount Root
	Error mounting /dev/sda3 at /media/gt/Root1: Command-line `mount -t "ext4" -o "uhelper=udisks2,nodev,nosuid" "/dev/sda3" "/media/gt/Root1"' exited with non-zero exit status 32: mount: /dev/sda3 already mounted or /media/gt/Root1 busy
Gparted lists the partitions and indicated that they were not mounted.
Yet, the partitions in the Lower half do mount and displays the file system, just fine.

Would it be safe to remove those items indicated by the **?
Would that solve the duplication?

There is also duplication in: /dev/disk/by-id/
I do not know how to Correlate those

/dev/sdb3 is the 6 GB Swap area from the 32 GB SSD.
This was put in on a reinstallation, as I had been using /dev/sda6 for the Swap.
Would Linux Mint find /dev/sda6, Swap area, if I deleted the /dev/sdb3 Swap area?
Would it be safe?

From advice by WharfRat, on another persons topic:

I'm confused: The first entry is todays result.
The second entry was from yesterday.
I don't know where the entries for /dev/mapper, part3 & part4 came from:

I'm still at a loss on what to do about these display entries:

TimeShift is installed, though I don't yet know how to use it.
Timeshift is "a system restore utility which takes snapshots of the system at regular intervals. These snapshots can be restored at a later date to undo all changes that were made after the snapshot was taken."
/var/log/timeshift/Text (text/x-log) shows multiple time stamps of the following error:

Code: Select all
