The convenient little OpenOffice launcher applet has disappeared! Does anybody know how to reinstall it?

Not sure if this is of any use mate but in Open Office Writer,if you go to Tools,Options,OpenOffice.org and then Memory,there is a box there you can check to enable the systray Quickstarter.That might work but i'm no expert.lol.

Ive done the Open Office update to 2.2 and no longer have the Quickstarter option that i mentioned previously.It's gone AWOL for me.Talk about not following my own advice.lol.

Maybe it didn't install as perfectly as i thought.? However,it seems to be running ok and it's not a major problem so its probably best to leave it as it is.I'll leave it be for the time being in case i really mess it up.lol.

OO.org is not in the new release and KPackage will not install it. How does one get OO.org on their PC when it is not included in the distro and it can not be added through the provided package managers.

use adept package manager. you need to install openoffice.org-kde-integration and openoffice.org-debian-menus
