You may have to enable the Desktop Cube first. If you're using the Desktop Wall, you will need to disable it first.
Click your menu, then go to Preferences/CompizConfig Settings Manager.
Untick Desktop Wall, then tick Desktop Cube. You will also want to tick Rotate Cube. Once that is done, you can close the CompizConfig window. Then, on your desktop, you can hold ctrl-alt, and click your left mouse button, and you should see the desktop cube effect.
