Firefox bug

Post by edtrvl »

I'm having an issue, a bug with Firefox (no add-ons), when I open it, it opens in full page, no panel (bottom bar)
Which is v frustrating and it does not allow me to view more than 1 page at a time (No tiling...).

Instead I'm using midori but I'd like to resolve this issue...
Is this a Linuxmint, Gnome or Firefox issue? Thanks in advance

Ed.

F11 changes between kiosk mode and normal mode - does that work?
view more than 1 page at a time (No tiling...).
I don't understand that - I never view more that one page at a time, but can have multiple tabs.....

I also don't understand what you mean by 'tiling'. :?

I think that they mean no tabs...

Yeah, F11 works but it's a work around, why is this issue happening?

By tiling, I mean viewing 2 or more window on the screen vertically or horizontally.
For example, when browsing the web, I like to have pidgin opened...
In Windows, you just right click on the task-bar and choose tile windows horizontally or vertically.
Hope it clarifies the issue, thanks

I have put this on my list and will try to find something later when all severe problems have been answered

I think that for Firefox problems you should consult the Firefox forums
http://forums.mozillazine.org/index.php?c=4
As for the tiling I think you have a solution here

Thanks Husse,
For Firefox opening in full page:
I raised the issue with Mozilla also and got the press F11 twice a workaround and this one which seems to have done the trick:
In Firefox, go to
Edit - Preferences - Content - Enable JavaScript Advanced ...
Untick the top option which is "Move or resize window". This should prevent javascript from being able to resize your window inconviently

For the tiling of windows, I installed tile but I'm not sure what to do then, I didn't get a chance to look at it.
