Is there a way of looking at what programs are loaded in Mint on start up?
Also any way of editing it..... without screwing up?
Thanks

You may want to take a look at Services applet (Control Center > Services) and Sessions Properties (Control Center > Sessions). It is generally safe to turn off most of the items listed in both applets; only two that should not be disabled, namely gdm and acpi-d (ACPI Daemon).
