Help!!
The mintinstall is corrupted regardless of what I do. I deleted the .xml file in the tmp folder. Yet, the problem persists. Can someone please help me out? Do I need to do a fresh install of mint? Help me...

Thanks for the advice...have been doing that ever since. But, even if I remove the package via Synaptic, the program still appears in the menu...hmmm **scratches head**

Does that happen even if you right click on the package in Synaptic and select 'Mark for complete removal'?
