Compiling Problem

Postby gkx on Tue Mar 03, 2009 9:20 am

When I run ./configure command, i get an error which is

*** The required package glib-2.0 was not found on your system.
*** Please install glib-2.0 (atleast version 2.6.4) or adjust
*** the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
*** installed the package in a nonstandard prefix so that
*** pkg-config is able to find it.

I looked from synaptic it is installed. I tried to remove and reinstall but it didnt work. I search google and this forum but ı couldnt find anything to solve the problem. Any help is appreciated.

What software and version are you trying to compile?

Maybe I could give you a repository or download link so that you do not have to compile it yourself.

gkx , you most likely need all of the gnome development packages installed. I have seen this before first hand. I think I installed around 120 packages! Satisfying all of the dependencies can be a real pain. You solve one or two and it still wants more. Doing a search in Synaptic should yield everything you need, that was what I did. I compiled Brasero from source at one time. I hope this helps you out and good luck compiling!

Thanks for the replies. I solved my problem after a very time consuming googling. I found that the missing dependency was libgtk2.0-dev. I installed it and then ı can compile now.
