Any possible way to remove totem without killing everything?

Postby Snaj on Fri Mar 06, 2009 4:34 pm

Hey guys, just wondering if there is a possible way to uninstall totem (have no use for it, I love VLC) without uninstalling mint-meta-main and all that. (I think that would be bad haha :P)

Thanks!

Hmm, it sounds important to me, and well as I said I'd really just like to remove totem if possible, if not I mean it's not a HUGE thing I can leave it, I'm just wondering if it can be done is all.

If you don't remove it you should be able to have all videos open with VLC I think - open up your File Browser and go to Edit > Preferences > Media.

Snaj,

You can use < sudo apt-get -u remove program_name > in the terminal. This will show you exactly what is going to be removed. If you decide you don't want to proceed just hit "n" for no, and it will exit without doing anything.
