using MIMMS to download mms://

Postby Dardarian on Sun Mar 29, 2009 8:03 pm

Hi there - hope I am in the correct place for this question...

I am using Mint 6 Felicia with Gnome:

using MIMMS in terminal as follows:

user@SP100MINT ~ $ mimms mms://202.7.7.90/rnz/ntn/ntn-20080815-0910-Doctor_-mbr.wma
mms://202.7.7.90/rnz/ntn/ntn-20080815-0910-Doctor_-mbr.wma => ntn-20080815-0910-Doctor_-mbr.wma
22.83 MB / 22.85 MB (4.47 kB/s, 00:00:04 remaining)
Download complete!

But for the life of me I cannot find where the file has been downloaded to on the disk!!!
Various wildcard searches return nothing.

Can anyone advise please?

Cheers

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

I don't know anything about MIMMS but I know a good way to search
First (terminal)
Code: Select all
sudo updatedb

Then
Code: Select all
locate -i 0910-Doctor

-i to ignore case
You should find it if it's on the disk at all - and that's not certain....

Great - thanks very much - found it in /home/user
Searching via nautilus didn't bring anything up!

I am starting to love the command line!! ;-)

Yes it's very powerful and has it's use, but in general it's easier to use a GUI
