"Low End" Photo Editor

About all that's keeping me from migrating my wife's computer from XP to Mint is a photo editor. Currently, we use ACDSee on XP and have sort of gotten used to it. I've tired Photoshop and Gimp, but they're a bit too complex for my wife. About all she does is crop and rotate (level out the horizon). So, I'm looking for a "basic" photo editor for her that is not complex to use. I've looked around a bit and all I've seen is "high end" [my words] editor and photo organizers - without basic editing.

Perhaps I just haven't looked in the right place - so, please provide some direction.

Thanks.

G'day Paul,

My favourite is Geeqie which is simple to use but is flexible enough to take you to Gimp if you need to. This is a very good package and should be in our Software Manager but I'm not sure it is there yet.

You can get it from Synaptic or a more recent version from removed. Like the other poster above, Gthumb is a stable basic viewer and editor.

John
