brasero recognizing second drive

Postby fenny on Fri Apr 17, 2009 3:48 pm

can someone suggest how to resolve a problem with brasero recognizing my second drive. when i try to do a disc copy, the source disc does not appear in the selector box unless it is in the first drive.

some background info: mint 6 , brasero 0.8.4, drives are mounted in fstab and are functioning, 2 ide drives (dvd-rw and dvd-rom).

thanks.

edit: drives are not in fstab but i guess are mounted by hal since they are functional in nautilus and other apps.

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

No good version of Brasero - upgrade
I think you have to go to getdeb to do that

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it

wow that was an obvious answer. should have found that myself but just noticed the version numbers. i was only using it because it came with the original mint 6 install. brasero site shows version 2.26.0. why the big difference?

anyway thanks for the reply.

Brasero 2.26.0 corresponds with the new version of Gnome, it is not built for Mint 6. Just follow Husse's advise and you can get a working version of Brasero. Make certain you remove the old version using Synaptic before installing the new version and you should be good to go.

just thought i'd follow up on this. after upgrading to gloria/jaunty, the problem still persists. complete removal and reinstall of brasero does not fix it. i'm still looking for a reason.
