how to activate ctrl + mouse click

Guys, please help me on this:

May be I am the only one on this problem ? I just can't choose several files using ctrl + mouse click to select several icons, and then for example open them, or maybe trash them. I know this is can be done, cuz shift+mouse click works fine but shift+mouse click select in sequence order.

Guys, I just find out that selecting several items/files is using:
ctrl+alt+click

But, is there any body know how to change it to just ctrl+click ?

Well,......

I just find out that this is bugs in my Toshiba Keyboard; so I've to fooling around with my keyboard layout. But weird though, since in Fedora this things runs very well, only in Ubuntu family it doesnot work well.
