**SOLVED** Thunderbird lightning problem

Postby ESM on Sun May 03, 2009 4:29 am

I installed Mint yesterday and copied the Thunderbird dir from my previous Ubuntu 9.04 home to the home dir of Mint. I had lightning installed in Ubuntu and that now conflicts somehow with Mint. Thunderbird starts and then comes up with a message stating that a newer version of Lightning is installed and that Lightning will be shut down to prevent problems.

Can someone help me with this problem. I have no idea what to do, but I like to get Lightning back.

EDIT: A bit of thinking work in the morning brought me the idea to delete Lightning in Synaptic and install it through the Mozilla add ons. And now the latest version works ;)

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

That's more kind of by-passing the problem than fixing it, but so long as it worked!
