Where does mintMenu store its settings?

Post by frderek »

Am currently trying out mint7 RC1 and sharing its /home with mint5.

I like the new-look of mintMenu on the live CD but on installation it reverts to the mint5 settings. There is obviously some hidden folder I need to delete or rename before I install the final version What's it called?

This is one of the many reasons why sharing the same home *directory* between multiple distributions is a bad idea, in this case the newly installed version is respecting your existing settings, rather than overriding them. If you don't change this, then you'll continue to have more and more conflicts, OpenOffice is a likely contender, as elyssa has v2.4, while gloria has v3. There are several ways to share a /home partition between distros, look in the installation and boot stickies from Fred for more info. FYI mintMenu, like all mintTools stores its settings in ~/.linuxmint/
