Ok, I followed a forum command that I thought was safe, trying to fix WinFF, it was "sudo apt-get purge xvid winff" or something like that and I knew something was wrong when I saw loads of packages being removed, openoffice, java, lots of stuff, in the terminal.
Basically I'm wondering is there an undo button!
A history of the packages I removed so I can get them back? Where would I find it if there is one?
This is in Gloria RC btw.
Java is gone, my login screen, Open in Terminal context menu option, nothing too major but it's annoying.
Don't worry I've already facepalmed myself for being a doofus.
Thanks.
Broke a few things with a purge command, d'oh!

Well, you know you can have a complete reinstall in under 30 minutes. I have done that plenty of times.
However, in this case, the final version of Gloria is just about ready. You may want to consider that. You were probably going to do a clean install anyway. Have fun!
