I have an ugly fonts (not smooth) on xmms or audacity. Other application's fonts are ok. Is it because of library that they are using or something else?

There are newer versions of both apps which are compiled against GTK v2 but they are not in the repos as far as I know; so you'd either have to get them manually or you'd have to "alien" them from another distro.
