Firefox Ctrl + E key and GNOME do.

Postby allistera on Mon Jun 01, 2009 6:19 pm

Hey Guys,
I just started using Linux Mint 7 and I really like it, I think I will be sticking to this distro, good work!.

Two problems with the latest release I have found:
  • In firefox the key combination CTRL + E (To highlight the search box) doesn't work, all other combinations seem to work tho for example CTRL + L works fine.
  • GNOME do doesn't rember any of my settings, I set it to start automatically but when I restart my computer it doesn't. Also the plugins list doesn't load, its just blank no matter if I click "Refresh".

Thanks for all help!

I'm not sure what the problem is with your Gnome-Do on startup.. Have you checked "Startup Applications" and made sure that Gnome-Do is in fact included? As for the plugins, you need to install them separately:
Code: Select all
apt install gnome-do-plugins

Then close Do and start it up again.. refreshing the plugins list didn't work for me for whatever reason.

Hope that helps,
Kaye

Thanks Kaye that sorted my Kaye problem, I was installed that package and manually made Gnome DO appear on startup.

Any solution to the firefox problem?

Thanks.

I looked into it but couldn't find anything. Is there a reason you need to use Ctrl+e instead of Ctrl+l?

I find it very useful for a direct google search, rather than Ctrl+L > "Goo" > Down > Enter, I can just use the search box.

Ctrl-k takes you directly to the Google search bar.
