You need to edit your sources list to add the repository for Open Office 3.1

In terminal, enter

Code: Select all

 sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
Hit enter. Put in your password (no indication of typing password in terminal but it is entered). A window will open to display the sources list. Scroll to the bottom and copy and paste:

" deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/openoffice-pkgs/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main" (without the quotes)

Save the edited list and close the terminal.

Open mintUpdate and scroll down the list of available level 3 updates. All Open Office entries are now for O.O.o. 3.1. Select them and install.
