Best available Dialer program?

Postby Ivan Strife on Sat Jun 13, 2009 10:54 pm

Hello everyone,

I just helped install mint7 on a friends desktop; he still connects via Dial-Up to AOl's horrible internet. I was wondering in your own opinion what is the best dialer out there? Also as I myself am still new to Linux I'm looking for something with decent installation instructions. :)

Thank you to anyone that replies!

Years ago in the kernel2.2 days, wvdial was considered better than gnomeppp. That may have changed today, of course. I found it easier to set up. Look under comuunications through synaptic package manager.

Also, the XFCE edition will be using "Chestnut Dialler", which might be what you're after.
