Java Crash Issues - RESOLVED

Hello there

After installing Mint 7, I've been having some Java issues. Namely, for reasons unknown to me, running Java-based websites in my browser will sometimes cause the screen to freeze up, and then begin to break apart in a mosaic pattern. Restarting my machine is the only option.

I am using java version 1.6.0_13, Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_13-b03), Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 11.3-b02, mixed mode) with Firefox 3.0.11.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The only difference with my machine is that I have Client VM (build 11.3-b02, mixed mode, sharing)
I have no problems at all - not that I visit that many sites with java
I think the version is OK but possibly Firefox is not
Empty the Firefox cache and see if it makes any difference

No problems - but I also have NoScript so I allow the domains one by one - don't know if that makes any difference

I tested that link. It appears to function normally for my system (Mint 7 x64 stock install as per signature). The only Firefox add-on I have is AdBlock Plus. I just wanted to share in case it might help narrow down the problem.

Just wanted to keep you all updated: I managed to fix this bug by uninstalling everything java-related in Synaptic, restarting, re-installing Java, and restarting again. Haven't had an issue since. Thanks for your input, everyone.
