volume control gone from system tray

Postby fastfr8r on Tue Jun 23, 2009 9:13 am

For some reason, the little speaker icon to adjust volume has disappeared from my system tray. I've tried rightclick, Add New Item, but no luck. Not easy to adjust volume now. Running XFCE on a Mini 9.
Any ideas?

Could it be out of focus? With these little screens it is easy to suddenly find out that you are missing some screen estate.

Ozz,
thanks for the reply; out of focus? Not sure I understand...

Sorry, I mean that sometimes the screen definition is not set right. As the sound icon is on the far right, it might be out of sight. Make sure the resolution of your screen is set at 1024x600. (Max definition for a Dell Mini)
Right click on panel properties and tick the show hide buttons. This should hopefully make the icon appear. Alternatively change the orientation to Left or right.
Come back to this post if it doesn't work.
