Questions about applications and software

I'm using Linux Mint 7 and was downloading and installing a long list of packages for OpenGL and OpenAL through Synaptic.
Synaptic crashed on me while I was installing about 100 packages.
Using sudo dpkg --configure -a, didn't seem to solve the problem.
[Terminal code result below]

dpkg -C to audit the system and give suggestions
--have a look in the dpkg options via --help or use man dpkg for a more complete description
Try fixing uninstalled/broken apps in synaptic or the terminal (commmand line)
sudo apt-get install -f
sudo apt-get install --fix-missing
Reboot the computer and use the previous kernel, then try again
--remember to use the reload button in synaptic to update the repositories list vs the installed system..
