lost sound again!

Postby davidjames on Fri Jun 26, 2009 9:29 pm

I have just lost sound on Felicia 6 again! I have been having this problem on and off and it is getting frustrating. I got it back once by doing a fresh install, and would really rather not have to do that again. Another time it was restored after browsing the forum and coming up with: pulseaudio -k; sleep 4; pulseaudio -vv . That did nothing this time. Pulse audio device chooser appears in my menu, but does not run or do anything when I click on it. It's like it doesn't exist. I am not a computer geek, I just want it to work. Here is my lspci :

Play a music CD or mp3 fle, open a terminal, type "alsamixer" and try playin with the sliders and unmuting channels with the "m" key until you get sound.

If that doesn't work show us the output to "aplay -L"

Thank you for your quick response.

I booted up my computer today, and sound is back, but PulseAudio Device Chooser still won't open.
