Peter Witteveen wrote:Hello there,

I really need someone's help here. I have installed vmware player from the add/remove... graphical package installer.

Since i have done this, every time i want to update something this blasted vmware player runs some kind of script and tries to replace some of its vmware files and failes to do so. The result is that every time i try to update something this just fails.

I tried to remove vmware player but when i do this at add/remove... i get an error saying that a '' pre-removal script '' has turned to error code 1, so vmware player doesn't get removed.

I really don't get this anymore, can anyone please help me? thnx

Peter

Code: Select all

sudo vmware-uninstall.pl
This will run the uninstall and remove the daemons, modules and restore the "pre-vmware" configuration.

Is ''vmware'' the right name?
vmware-uninstall.pl

it might be something else for just player type

vm

then hit tab a few times and it'll give you the command options that start with "vm" (I love bash completion!!!).
