Welcome to Linux Mint, Timmy. There are no stupid questions when it comes to Linux, as we were all newbies once. Wine or Transgaming Cedega can be used to run windows programs and games, however it is often best to find a native Linux program instead. For example, an alternative to MS Flight Simulator would be Flightgear, which you can install using Synaptic. Let us know if you need help replacing any of your other Windows programs with native Linux ones.
