1) yes, it's compiz, which you can enable in Appearance > Effects, and configure using Compiz Config Settings Manager
2) I don't think you understand what wine does, it's a compatibility later to run windows *applications* on the linux desktop, it won't help you to install windows drivers to get your sound working, you have to find/configure the appropriate linux driver for your hardware. Once you install actual applications, they'll be available in the menu, same as other apps.
3) you can change resolution once you've installed guest additions, sound and internet are only enabled if you set it that way, all of this can be configured using vbox's preferences. You won't get completely native speeds in vbox, but you should give it as much ram as you would for a normal install, which depends on which version of windows. No idea what an sb live cd is.
