[SOLVED] install Dropbox in Mint 7

Postby knallfrosch on Thu Sep 24, 2009 5:17 am

Hey,
I tried to install Dropbox in Linux Mint 7 but after the installation dropbox will not start.

I added:
Code: Select all
deb http://linux.getdropbox.com/ubuntu jaunty main
deb-src http://linux.getdropbox.com/ubuntu jaunty main

to sources.list and do a apt-get install nautilus-dropbox

But after the wizard theres no process called "dropbox" or such a name.
Theres also no ~/dropbox folder.

The Installation with the .deb brings the same result.

Yes, I tried turning it off and on again :-)

What can I do?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

I think dropbox must be manually set to start up itself on system startup. You can do that in Control Center, autostarted applications, and type "dropbox" into the command line of the GUI box for autostarting....

Thanks!

Works with command "dropbox start" in autostarted apps.
