Quitting the spawning app kills the spawned app (FF from TB)

Postby Stefan_of_Mint on Tue Oct 20, 2009 2:20 pm

Hello boys and girls,

when I click a link in an email my default browser firefox is started (which is correct).
But when I quit thunderbird, the browser is killed, too. (Which is unexpected and not wanted).

Where can I configure to start firefox as an independent process?

I am using Gloria XFCE, but the Gnome edition shows the same behaviour.

Yours

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

You can have more than one instance of an application running, usually

So start Firefox normally, then start Thunderbird to check email
--see if that kills all the Firefox instances running or only the one called by Thunderbird..

Well, that's a possible solution. But it is nothing more than a workaround.
Is there no one out there who knows where the started application is configured?
