Password Manager app

Post by RevMike »

I was previously running Linspire 6 and used an application called Password Manager which generated passwords and stored them in encrypted .pwm form with a Master Password to access, add and edit them.

Is this app. available for Mint 7?
If not, how does Mint 7 generate and safely store passwords.

How about: Menu, Package Manager, type "password" in the search box and choose and install one of the many applications that will do what you want?

I now use LastPass.com which is free, multi platform, webbrowser based which seems to cover all security angles and works well.

Using Keepassx here, multi-platform. Keyfile stored on own computer, not on someones insecure server.

Since I need to work with both Windows and Linux I use KeePass portable so that I have my passwords and account info with me at all times. It runs well under Wine.
